Mouse Antoinette

I saw an early screening of Marie Antoinette. It was a special gala event and so I got my mum a ticket as a gift. It was a fantastic time all round. Apart from an incident concerning a bunch of rude 1st-yr-Uni-student-looking girls, and a prize pack, and missed luck.

Anyway, in the fabulousness of the Marie Antoinette movie and the very rockin' 2 disc soundtrack, I drew this mouse, and even painted it. (The paper puckered though because i did it straight in my thin papered sketchbook, and then the scanner enhanced the wrinkles.) Why a mouse? Because it's in light of a new 6 page story i am doing for fun, about a mouse and his sisters. I'm supposed to have finished it by now for an anthology.

And then here's a doodle reference I used, that i did while at work almost 2 months ago inspired, by a victorian hat I saw. And it was this same picture that gave me the idea to do a story about mice.

Which brings me back to now doing this new Antoinette mouse, with full costume inspiration from the the movie, and to give a glimps into my next comic story, which was inspired by the original mouse in the first place. I am constantly finding myself doing circles.

This is so adorable....it's the kind of fantasy that springs into our minds without any reference point. I am glad you posted it...Very whimsical. I wish mice were such good dressers in our real world...
